RIPPERS STILL IN GOOD SPOT IN CHICAGO DESPITE RD. 2 HICCUP
SUGAR GROVE, Ill. – Considering the players’ overall strong contributions through the first two days, Ripper Golf Club is still in position to make a Sunday move despite taking a small step back Saturday at LIV Golf Chicago.
Ripper GC shot a combined 4 under in Round 2 for a two-day total of 15 under and are eighth in the team standings at Rich Harvest Farms. The team couldn’t quite find the magic from the previous day but are in no way out of making a Sunday leap.
One day after Jediah Morgan blistered the course for a 5-under 66, he followed it up with a non-counting score of 4-over 75. But the talented star still has enough good vibrations from his scintillating Friday play to muster some late magic in the final round.
Marc Leishman led the way for Ripper GC on Saturday with a 3-under 68. He currently sits T-6 on the individual leaderboard and is looking to back up his nice eighth-place finish at LIV Golf Bedminster.
Matt Jones gutted out a 1-under 70 despite some scoring challenges, and captain Cam Smith added the final counting score, an even-par 71.
Ripper GC is coming off winning the team trophy at LIV Golf Bedminster and began the week seventh in the season-long team standings.
